The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McDougle scores with a hook to the body. Petkovic takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Petkovic with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling McDougle to score with a decent uppercut.
McDougle scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Petkovic closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. McDougle did well to prevent Petkovic getting side control.

Petkovic has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of McDougle's face.

Petkovic has control of McDougle's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and McDougle regains control of the situation pretty easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
