The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and Heggs counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Overeem misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Heggs bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Overeem attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

Heggs drives through and clinches with Overeem against the cage.

Heggs breaks from the clinch.
Heggs throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Overeem throws a right hand that Heggs ducks under and follows up with a left that Heggs also avoids with ease.

Heggs cracks Overeem with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Overeem looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Heggs finish him?

Heggs clinches with his opponent.
Heggs keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Overeem's efforts to push away.
Heggs scores with an uppercut up the middle.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Heggs breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Overeem uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Heggs.
Heggs needs to keep his hands up - Overeem had a free shot at his head there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Heggs counters with a perfectly timed head kick, knocking Overeem out cold! Wow, that took some serious skill and not a little luck! Heggs is taking it in his stride though, strolling around like it's no big deal. What a guy.
