The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Can Viii looks to clinch
and Rampage counters with a head kick. That will keep Can Viii thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Mike Rampage seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Can Viii misses with a takedown
and Rampage counters with a nice body kick.

Rampage throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Can Viii was covering up waiting for the punch and Rampage finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Can Viii could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Can Viii has momentary wrist control but Rampage slips an elbow through the middle.

Rampage slips nicely into half guard.
Rampage lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Rampage sitting in half guard here. He lands a big elbow that has hurt Can Viii! Oh, Can Viii is in big trouble! Rampage lands more strikes and the ref dives in to save him! The fight is over!
