PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between King Bazz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eddie King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). King comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Seasons in the Abyss kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, King Bazz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Eddie King!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Hirohito Nitta and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Bazz manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
King misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
King will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
King throws a head kick that misses.
Bazz avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Bazz slaps away a takedown attempt from King, before circling back to the center of the mat.
King fails with a takedown attempt.
King Bazz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eddie King.
Bazz misses with a low kick.
The fight stays on the outside here - King looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
King tries for a takedown but Bazz circles away easily
and Bazz counters with a straight right hand.
King shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Bazz as he avoids it easily.
King looks gassed!

Bazz tries to pass the half guard into mount. King knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

King is refusing to be controlled, as Bazz sits in half guard.
Bazz takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Bazz tries to pass to full mount but King defends it.
Bazz seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but King does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
King wants to get back to his feet.
Bazz is controlling the pace.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bazz is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because King is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

We're going to have a standup here because King Bazz wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
King gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
King moves forwards but Bazz connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Bazz throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. King tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Bazz is in King's guard.
Bazz slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
King wants to get back to his feet but Bazz drags him back down.
Bazz working the strikes but King uses the opportunity to regain half guard.
Bazz looks to land a strike but King avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
King uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Bazz digs a good body shot into King's ribs.
King tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
King tries for a takedown but Bazz circles away easily
and Bazz counters with a stiff right hand.
Eddie King seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This has been an exciting period of action!
King shoots in for a takedown but Bazz shows good takedown defense.
King takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
King tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Bazz manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
King looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
King misses with a wild body shot.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
King takes one to the chin there.

King clinches with his opponent.
Bazz avoids the elbow strike from King, against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

King Bazz dominated that round.

Bazz decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Bazz connects with a nice short shot to King's temple.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
King looks like he's trying to stand up.
Bazz is looking to pass King's guard but actually King recovers to full guard.
King Bazz overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Bazz stops King from standing up.
King is breathing heavily.

Bazz is looking to work some ground and pound but King has wrist control.
King has momentary wrist control but Bazz slips an elbow through the middle.

King pushes Bazz off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Eddie King is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
King doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Bazz counters with a lovely straight right hand!
King misses with a head kick.
King moves in looking to clinch but Bazz pushes him off.

Bazz looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for King!
Bazz lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Bazz pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

King on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Bazz seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if King can do anything to dispel that myth.

King wants to stand and escape but Bazz is having none of it.

King is looking to stand up but Bazz isn't so interested in that idea.
Bazz wants to control from the top but King keeps moving.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Bazz postures up in King's guard and throws a big left but King blocks it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

and Bazz counters with a straight right hand.
King tries to close the distance and clinch but Bazz swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Bazz lands a glancing blow to the side of King's head.
King tries to clinch but Bazz moves out of range.
King's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Bazz connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! King scrambles back to his feet.

Bazz bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
King takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Bazz prevents King from escaping the position.
The ground and pound from Bazz seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Bazz tries to score with some ground and pound. King controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up. King Bazz wasn't doing enough on the ground.
King shoots in but no luck this time.
King throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
King Bazz is winning the standup battle so far.
King shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
King tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Bazz counters with a series of strikes. King will be more careful next time no doubt.
Bazz connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Bazz uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
King tries to close the distance and clinch but Bazz swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

King gets caught napping as Bazz dives in and scores a takedown. King manages to retain guard.

Eddie King has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

King Bazz showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bazz, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
