PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Michael Proctor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tom Tucker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Proctor comes to the cage accompanied by DreamWorld by Ralek Gracie. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Michael Proctor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tom Tucker!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tucker misses with a body shot.
That kick from Tucker tenderised Proctor's leg. Proctor is trying to keep his angry face on.
Tom Tucker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tucker connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Proctor takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Proctor tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Tucker manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Proctor changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Tucker tries to avoid it but Proctor manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Tucker to the ground. Tucker escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Tucker swings for the body but Proctor moves out of range.
Proctor looks to score with a jab to the body but Tucker is just out of range.
Tucker throws a right and a left that both miss.
Proctor shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Tucker throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Proctor looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Proctor stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tucker swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Tucker looking to hit a scissor sweep but Proctor is one step ahead there.

Tucker wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Proctor throws an elbow that misses. Tucker uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Proctor's guard. Nice move by Tucker!
Tucker wants to get up but he can't break Proctor's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Proctor is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Tucker is aware though and is defending well.

Proctor has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Tucker can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Tucker must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Tucker tries to stand but Proctor is controlling from the bottom.
Tucker trying to control the position from guard on top but Proctor is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Tucker stands and steps away. Proctor gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
A lazy left from Tucker finds it's target.
Proctor looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Tucker is fending him off so far but Proctor persists. Nope, Tucker circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Michael Proctor. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Proctor is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Proctor ducks under a wild hook from Tucker.
Tucker thuds his right hand into Proctor's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Tucker dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Tucker throws a looping overhand right but Proctor ducks down to avoid it.

Proctor fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Proctor looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Tom Tucker is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
The fighters circle momentarily. Tucker darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Proctor shoots for a double leg takedown but Tucker sprawls well. He's pushed Proctor's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Tucker connects with a body shot.

Proctor walks into a stiff left hand from Tucker.
Tucker stalks Proctor and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Proctor's face. Proctor staggers backwards, shaken.


It looks like Michael Proctor has been cut.
Tucker thows a body shot but no joy.
Tucker digs a good body shot into Proctor's ribs.
Tucker misses with a wild combination.
A right-left combo lands from Proctor.
Tucker misses with a wild body shot.
Tucker fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Tucker!
Tucker scores with a hook to the body. Proctor takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Tucker missing with a left hand there. Proctor was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Tucker misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Tucker paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Proctor gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Tucker counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Proctor won't allow Tucker to sweep him here.
Tucker seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Tucker is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Proctor drops back, looking for a kneebar! Tucker looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Tucker looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Tucker!

Proctor sneaks back into half guard.
Tucker takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Tucker prevents Proctor from improving his position.

Tucker stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Proctor to get to his feet.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Nice body punch from Tucker - that landed with a thud.

Tucker pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Proctor misses with a takedown attempt - Tucker sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Tucker swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Tucker uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Proctor.
Proctor tries to bum rush Tucker with a series of wild strikes but Tucker uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Tucker just misses with a punch to the body.
Tucker's jab looks to have found its range, popping Proctor under the eye.
Proctor fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Proctor shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Tucker sprawls well. Tucker wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Proctor gets slowly back to his feet.

Tucker stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Tucker wants it to stay on the feet.

Tucker lands a nice hook to Proctor's body. Proctor takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Proctor looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Tucker cracks Proctor with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Tucker swings for the body but Proctor moves out of range.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Tucker misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Tucker lands a leg kick that knocks Proctor off balance momentarily.
Tucker throws a good cross that connects.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tom Tucker showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Tucker tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Proctor wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Proctor in side control, throwing shots but Tucker defends.

Proctor tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Proctor has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Tucker tries to buck Proctor off but Proctor is having none of it.

Proctor is trying to ground and pound but Tucker uses the momentary lack of control by Proctor to regain half guard.
Proctor wants to pass to mount but Tucker is defending the position.
Tucker wants to control but Proctor is keeping busy.
Proctor tries to pass to full mount but Tucker defends it.
Tucker on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Tucker is staying active underneath Proctor, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Proctor is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Tucker doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Proctor.
Michael Proctor has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Proctor prevents Tucker from improving his position.

Proctor is looking for a kimura but Tucker is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Proctor to get the leverage.
Tucker gets back to full guard.
Tucker looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Tucker has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Proctor doesn't defend quickly enough and Tucker has managed to lock this one up! Can Proctor escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Tucker on a fantastic submission victory.
