Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Artem Vaits (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Mcgryn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Paul Mcgryn was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Paul Mcgryn!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Aleksandr Martynov and Vladimir Khabensky.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Mcgryn or perhaps it was just good defense by Vaits which made him look bad.
Mcgryn fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Vaits fails to land the takedown.
Artem Vaits seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Vaits feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Mcgryn is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Vaits dives into side control.

Vaits is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Mcgryn knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Vaits is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Mcgryn is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Vaits is trying to get an arm triangle but Mcgryn is defending well.

Vaits is working to tighten is grip on Mcgryn's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Mcgryn has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Vaits is really squeezing tight and eventually Mcgryn passes out! Vaits breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

In his post fight interview, Artem Vaits started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
