Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nobuhiro Nakamura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phil Maycock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nakamura comes into the arena with Breathe blaring out of the sound system. Maycock has chosen GG Allin - Hard Candy Cock as his entrance music. Nobuhiro Nakamura had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nobuhiro Nakamura!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Phil Maycock!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Jeff Smith and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maycock doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Nakamura counters with a stiff right hand.


It looks like Phil Maycock has been cut.
Nakamura swats away the attempt to clinch by Maycock.
Maycock closes the distance and clinches up with Nakamura, looking for a takedown. Maycock pushes Nakamura against the cage but Nakamura circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Nakamura clobbers Maycock with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Nakamura swings for the body but Maycock moves out of range.

and Nakamura counters with an outside leg kick.
Nobuhiro Nakamura has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Phil Maycock.

Nakamura moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Nakamura is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Nakamura drops Maycock with a right and a left! Nakamura comes rushing in but Maycock regains his composure and manages to keep Nakamura in guard.


That has opened up Phil Maycock's cut even more.

Nakamura is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Nakamura's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Nobuhiro Nakamura wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Maycock moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

and Nakamura counters with a lovely straight right hand!


The cut above Phil Maycock's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

Nakamura throws a big overhand right that connects, sending Maycock tumbling to the canvas!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Maycock has gone for a leg lock! Nakamura slips out almost immediately though and dives into Maycock's guard.
Nakamura has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Maycock is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Maycock can't keep his opponent in guard - Nakamura advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Maycock wants to improve his position but Nakamura is controlling well.

This has been an exciting period of action!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Maycock is in all sorts of trouble here.
Nakamura lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nakamura lands a nice hook to Maycock's body. Maycock takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

The fight stays on the outside here - Maycock looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Nakamura is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Maycock tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Phil Maycock seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nakamura looks to land a combination. Maycock sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.


Phil Maycock's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Phil Maycock's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Nobuhiro Nakamura!
