Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Verneri Viikate!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mikko Mitro!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Roosa Järviläinen and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Viikate misses with a looping left.
Mitro shoots for a takedown but Viikate saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Viikate throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Mitro.
Viikate drops Mitro with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Mitro looks back up at him and smiles so Viikate waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Mitro is rocked!
It looks like Mikko Mitro has been cut.
Verneri Viikate seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Viikate misses with a straight right.
Mitro is still on wobbly legs! Can Viikate finish him?
Mitro walks straight into a right hand from Viikate - that's dropped him! Viikate jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Mitro from any more punishment! Mitro complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
