The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hogan darts in and clinches McSlugg up against the cage.
McSlugg is working for takedown but Hogan is calmly controlling the position for now.
Hogan wants a takedown.

Hogan turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Hogan wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by McSlugg, who protects the arm well.
Hogan tries to score with some ground and pound. McSlugg controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Hogan tries to advance to mount but McSlugg denies him.
Hogan creates some space and throws a big elbow, but McSlugg sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Hogan tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

Hogan is trying to ground and pound but McSlugg uses the momentary lack of control by Hogan to regain half guard.
