The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cades closes the distance and clinches.
Knees in the clinch landing for Cades.

Cades breaks from the clinch.
Cades tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Ferreira paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Ferreira misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Ferreira takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Ferreira closes this distance looking for a takedown but Cades circles away.
Ferreira ducks straight into an uppercut from Cades and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - Ferreira maanges to regain guard straight away.

It looks like Alberto Ferreira has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Cades wants to stand but Ferreira is controlling his posture from full guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ferreira is on top in guard.

Cades is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Cades moves in looking to clinch but Ferreira pushes him off.
Cades cracks Ferreira with an uppercut from hell and Ferreira crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Cades's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!

Ferreira escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cades gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Cades comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Cades connects with a nasty looking knee right to Ferreira's face.
Cades using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Ferreira has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Mike Cades seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cades thows a body shot but no joy.
