Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Neil Pert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jaime Lener (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pert comes into the arena with Tom Sawyer-Rush blaring out of the sound system. Jaime Lener has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lener fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Lener misses with a wild body shot.
Pert lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Pert is looking to clinch.

and Lener counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Pert swings wildly with an uppercut but Lener uses good head movement to avoid it.
Pert tries to circle away but Lener has him pinned against the cage.
Pert tries to throw a body punch but Lener avoids it by throwing Pert back against the cage.
Pert throws a head punch that misses.
Pert doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Pert fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Lener's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Pert shoots in for a takedown but Lener shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

and Lener counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Lener lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Pert has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Pert and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Pert swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Pert rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Lener moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Lener has taken the fight to the clinch.

Lener breaks the clinch.
Pert misses with a jab, cross combination.
Lener checks a leg kick nicely.
Lener shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Pert as he jumps to the side.
Nice takedown defense from Lener. No joy for Pert on that attempt.
Pert tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lener swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Lener has Pert up against the cage in a clinch.
Pert tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Lener goes for a takedown in the clinch but Pert prevents it.
Neil Pert has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jaime Lener.

Lener breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Pert throws a series of punches but Lener avoids them all with ease.

Lener wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Pert throws a leg kick but Lener checks it.

and Lener connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Pert throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Lener cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Pert shoots in looking for a takedown. Lener tries to sprawl out of it but Pert keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lener manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Pert throws a right and a left that Lener avoids nicely.
Neil Pert seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Lener sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Pert's defenses. It connects perfectly with Pert's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!
