Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Soon Do (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anthony Pettis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Anthony Pettis is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Soon Do!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Anthony Pettis!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shirou Masuda and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Do keeps the fight on the outside.

Do moves into the clinch successfully.
Do just leaning against Pettis, taking a breather.
Pettis throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Do blocks it with crossed arms.
Do taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Pettis with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Pettis tries to land a knee to the head but Do blocks with his arms.
Pettis jumps guard but Do turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Pettis misses with a knee to the head.
Do stalls.
Do is looking to break free of the clinch but Pettis has double underhooks.
A hook to the body from Do.
Pettis throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Do blocks it with crossed arms.
Pettis throws an elbow but it misses.
Pettis wants a takedown but no success here.
Pettis fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Soon Do has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Anthony Pettis.
Pettis tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Do smiles and moves away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pettis shoots in for a takedown but Do shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Pettis tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Do holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Do as Pettis tries to tie him up.
Do is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Do lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Do thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Pettis's head.
Do working over Pettis with some ground and pound. Pettis looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Do winds up and cracks Pettis with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Do trying to control from Pettis's half guard. Pettis has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
Do looking to pass the guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Do postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Pettis looks gassed!
Do missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Pettis working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Do.
Pettis really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Do. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Do lands a couple of elbows.
Do pushes down on Pettis's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Do landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Do thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Pettis's head.
Do has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Do breaks from Pettis's wrist control and lands an elbow.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Do working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Do is landing with some decent strikes but Pettis is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Do lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Pettis is bucking up trying to escape but Do cracks him with another couple of good strikes.


Pettis is rocked!
Do softens up his opponent with a couple of shots there and then CRACK! One massive shot lands there and Pettis is out cold! Do jumps to his feet and celebrates on the cage with the fans, who are, quite frankly, going absolutely mental!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Soon Do!
After the fight, Soon Do was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
