Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Lawrence (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexey Shishkin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

With a record of 11 - 17 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alexey Shishkin!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Ivan Kurochkin and Viktor Lagutenko.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shishkin slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Shishkin walks into a left hand.

It looks like Alexey Shishkin has been cut.
Shishkin stuffs the takedown attempt from Lawrence . Lawrence gets slowly back to his feet.
Shishkin wants to clinch.
Shishkin moves in looking to clinch but Lawrence pushes him off.
Shishkin fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Lawrence .
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lawrence looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Lawrence looks to score with a jab to the body but Shishkin is just out of range.
Lawrence swats away the attempt to clinch by Shishkin.
An inside leg kick lands from Shishkin.
Shishkin walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Shishkin uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Lawrence .
Shishkin moves in looking to clinch but Lawrence pushes him off.
A jab from Lawrence misses.
Shishkin tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Lawrence manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Shishkin takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Shishkin keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Johnny Lawrence . That's going to take a lot out of him.

Shishkin closes the distance and pushes Lawrence back into the cage.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Shishkin working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lawrence doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Shishkin is tightening it up a little... Lawrence has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Lawrence reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Lawrence taps out! Nice BJJ there by Shishkin!
