The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A swing and a miss from Ivanov.

Ivanov has taken the fight to the clinch.
Drost misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Drost successfully pulls guard.
Ivanov sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Drost's guard.

Ivanov is working for a submission of some sort.

Ivanov looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Ivanov is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Drost is just riding it out for now. Ivanov eventually gives up the hold.
Ivanov trying to mount his opponent but Drost defends it.

Drost works his way to full guard. Good work.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Drost is on top in guard.
Drost wants to control from the top but Ivanov keeps moving.

Ivanov isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Drost stacks Ivanov on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Drost!

Drost stands up.
Ivanov bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Drost avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Ivanov has his takedown stuffed
and Drost makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Drost connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Ivanov throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Ivanov takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Drost avoids the head kick by Ivanov.

No joy there for Ivanov, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Ivanov throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Drost throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Drost takes a swing at Ivanov's ribcage but misses.
Ivanov goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Cj Ivanov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ivanov shoots in for a takedown but Drost shows good takedown defense.
Ivanov takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Drost jabs Ivanov right on the nose. Ivanov blinks but takes it well.
Drost lands a nice hook to Ivanov's body. Ivanov takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Drost throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Ivanov tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Drost is in Ivanov's guard.
Drost works over Ivanov with some ground and pound from guard.

Ivanov is rocked!
Drost works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Ivanov is still in real trouble! Can Drost finish him?
Drost lands a big elbow - Ivanov is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Drost!
