Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Viktor Kulakov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vyacheslav Poluyanov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kulakov comes to the cage accompanied by Lube-Shparu. Poluyanov is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by The battle is going again. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
9 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Viktor Kulakov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Vyacheslav Poluyanov!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Anni Minnemäki and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Poluyanov tried to score with a low kick but Kulakov checks it.
Poluyanov thumps Kulakov with a low kick.
Kulakov stuns Poluyanov with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Kulakov rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Poluyanov counters with a left and a right that stings Kulakov.
A big right from Poluyanov misses.
Kulakov looks to land a combination but Poluyanov avoids it well.
Poluyanov throws a head kick that misses.
Poluyanov lands with a shot to the body.
Kulakov takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Kulakov tries to bum rush Poluyanov with a series of wild strikes but Poluyanov uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Poluyanov misses with a straight left.
Poluyanov throws a low kick but it's checked well by Kulakov.
Poluyanov's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Kulakov connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Poluyanov scrambles back to his feet.
Poluyanov throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A head kick misses from Poluyanov.
Poluyanov feints and then cracks Kulakov's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Kulakov down.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kulakov takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Poluyanov misses with a kick to the body.
Kulakov keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Poluyanov moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Kulakov throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Poluyanov stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Poluyanov throws a big shot that misses.
Poluyanov looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
It looks like Vyacheslav Poluyanov has been cut.
Poluyanov throws a jab when Kulakov was well out of range.
Kulakov will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Poluyanov moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Poluyanov finds himself stumbling back on wobbly legs after being clipped by a right hand. He's up against the cage, ducking and weaving under Kulakov's strikes but an uppercut finds it's way through and Poluyanov falls! - He's completely out of it and the ref jumps in to save him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Viktor Kulakov!
A relieved looking Viktor Kulakov thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
