PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Reece Nunn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kamil Wecowski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nunn comes to the cage accompanied by Drop The World - Lil Wayne. Wecowski has chosen Flipsyde - Someday as his entrance music. Reece Nunn has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kamil Wecowski!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nunn clinches.
Wecowski can't get the takedown.
Wecowski is trying to break the clinch but Nunn has him pressed against the cage.
Wecowski is trying to push Nunn away but Nunn has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Wecowski has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Nunn avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Wecowski wants to get back to striking at distance but Nunn won't allow it.
Nunn keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Wecowski's efforts to push away.

Wecowski turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Wecowski manages to end up in side control.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Wecowski is trying to get an arm triangle but Nunn is defending well.
Nunn on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Nunn tries to get out of the position.
Nunn is trying to control Wecowski's posture but Wecowski avoids it.
Nunn is holding Wecowski down, trying to stall.
Wecowski wants to lay and pray for a moment but Nunn keeps working.

Wecowski wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Nunn, who protects the arm well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nunn wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Wecowski is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Nunn knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Wecowski is looking to take a break and control but Nunn is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Wecowski tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Wecowski has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Wecowski is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Nunn has escaped the position, nice work there.

Nunn is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Nunn is not content to let Wecowski control the position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kamil Wecowski dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Wecowski shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Nunn defends it nicely.

Nunn knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Wecowski on the ground.

Kamil Wecowski has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
A looping hook to the body misses from Nunn. Wecowski does a little dance to reset his feet.
Wecowski lands a really nice looking cross but Nunn seems unphased.
Nunn throws a right hand that Wecowski ducks under and follows up with a left that Wecowski also avoids with ease.

Nunn misses with a double jab.
Wecowski closes the distance and clinches up with Nunn, looking for a takedown. Wecowski pushes Nunn against the cage but Nunn circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Nunn throws a hook but Wecowski blocks it.
Nunn slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Wecowski fails with the takedown.
Reece Nunn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kamil Wecowski.
Nunn jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Nunn misses with a series of wild punches.
Nunn keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Nunn closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Nunn throws a jab but it's blocked by Wecowski.
Reece Nunn is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

so Wecowski counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Wecowski won't allow Nunn to get back to his feet.
Wecowski passes into half guard.

Wecowski maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Nunn could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Wecowski has cracked it and Nunn is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Wecowski!

An out of breath Kamil Wecowski thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
