The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nagiev scores with a sloppy right hand. Cozad should have avoided that one.
Cozad swats away the attempt to clinch by Nagiev.

and Cozad counters with a three punch combo that has Nagiev backing up. Nagiev nods at Cozad to acknowledge the strikes.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Cozad shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Nagiev but Nagiev pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Cozad has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Nagiev clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Nagiev controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.
Cozad is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Nagiev with him. Nagiev is trying to defend but Cozad has an arm under the chin now! Nagiev grimaces and is forced to tap out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Connor Cozad!
