PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Walt Potter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobby Glenn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Potter comes to the cage accompanied by Emalkay - When I Look At You. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 6 - 2, fighting out of Montreal, Walt Potter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bobby Glenn!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Dillan Fox and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Glenn moves in looking to clinch but Potter pushes him off.
Glenn throws the left hand but Potter avoids the punch easily.
Potter throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Glenn.
Glenn misses with a straight right.
Glenn throws a right and a left that Potter avoids nicely.
Glenn throws a right and a left that both miss.
Potter misses with a takedown attempt - Glenn sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Potter's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Potter duly obliges.

Potter throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Glenn tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Potter is in Glenn's guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Potter won't allow Glenn to get back to his feet.

Glenn scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Glenn misses the body punch

and Potter counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Glenn's guard now.
Glenn is looking to stand up but Potter isn't so interested in that idea.
Potter might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Potter stands up and waves to Glenn to follow him.
Potter shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Glenn pinned against the cage. Glenn gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Potter shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Glenn's guard.
Glenn wants to stand but Potter is controlling the position.

Walt Potter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Potter closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Potter makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Glenn is trying to buck Potter off.

Potter decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Glenn swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Potter.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Potter fails to land the takedown.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Potter shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Glenn but Glenn pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Potter takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Glenn scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Potter misses with a double jab.
