The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stein is looking to slow Small down with leg kicks.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Small is defended easily by Stein.
That kick from Stein tenderised Small's leg. Small is trying to keep his angry face on.
Small gets the takedown into side control.
Small has hold of Stein's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Stein tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Small cranks the arm and Stein screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Stein, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Ryan Small!
