Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ching Gui (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Azumah Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Ching Gui has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nelson dives in and grabs Gui's left leg, looking for a takedown. Gui pushes down on Nelson's head and hops out.
Nelson has a takedown stuffed.
Nelson walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Gui lands a nice hook to Nelson's body. Nelson takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Gui dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Gui bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Nelson's head backwards.
Nelson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Gui defends it nicely.
Ching Gui has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Azumah Nelson.
Nelson drops his hands momentarily and Gui takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Nelson closes the distance and clinches.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gui can't find room to land a body shot as Nelson controls the action.
A nice left hand lands by Gui.
Gui just leaning against Nelson, taking a breather.
Nelson has Gui pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Gui manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Nelson misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Gui lands a right hand that snaps the head of Nelson backwards.

Nelson tightens his grip and picks Gui up, before dumping him to the ground. Gui manages to land in guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Gui is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Gui is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Nelson defends well.

Gui knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Nelson on the ground.

Nelson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Gui on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Nelson decides to stand up, so the ref orders Gui to his feet.
Nelson shoots in and drives through. Gui sprawls well.
Nice takedown defense from Gui. No joy for Nelson on that attempt.

Gui utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Nelson postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Gui throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Nelson escapes and throws Gui's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Nelson lands a nice forearm strike.
Nelson scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Gui to see if he's OK.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Nelson working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Gui tries to buck Nelson off but Nelson is having none of it.

Nelson is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Gui has escaped the position, nice work there.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Nelson looks up at the clock and then as Gui takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Nelson smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Nelson lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Nelson connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Gui some visible discomfort.

Gui is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Nelson is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Nelson cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Nelson is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Nelson extends the arm and Gui is forced to tap!

A very excited looking Azumah Nelson rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
