The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Penn throws the kick towards the body but Breda avoids it.
Penn throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

Penn throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Breda tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Penn is in Breda's guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Breda is trying to keep Penn in close.
Penn is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Breda looking to hit a scissor sweep but Penn is one step ahead there.
Penn wants to control from the top but Breda keeps moving.

Baby Jay Penn has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Penn shoots in and bounces Breda off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Breda tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Breda is looking to sinch up a triangle. Penn throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Breda's body to avoid the submission. Breda has instead reached around Penn's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Breda arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
