The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch lands to the side of Carpenter 's head but he takes it in his stride.
No joy there for Donnell, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Jack Carpenter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Carpenter fails with an attempt to clinch.
Carpenter tries to clinch there but Donnell circles away.
Donnell closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Donnell darts in and clinches Carpenter up against the cage.
Carpenter is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Donnell to keep the fight standing.
Carpenter trying to control the position but instead, Donnell has worked for underhooks and has pushed Carpenter into the cage.
Donnell presses Carpenter against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Carpenter drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Donnell has hold of one of Carpenter's legs. Carpenter is fighting the takedown attempt but Donnell gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Donnell slips nicely into half guard.
Carpenter is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Donnell's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Donnell's back!

Donnell manages to reverse the position and now he's in Carpenter's guard. Nice work there by Donnell.
Donnell wants to control from the top but Carpenter keeps moving.

Donnell is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Carpenter is just riding it out for now. Donnell eventually gives up the hold.

Donnell frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Oooooh, big shot lands for Donnell! Carpenter is hurt baaadly! Donnell is firing away with more strikes - Carpenter is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
