The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Penn moves into range and connects with a jab.
Christ misses with a takedown
and Penn counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Decent striking displayed by Penn there.
Penn scores with a shot to the body.
Jesus Christ seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Penn misses with a hook.

Christ closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Christ lands in his opponent's guard.
Christ looking to pass the guard.
Christ wants to control from the top but Penn keeps moving.
Penn is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Christ has gone for a leg lock! Penn slips out almost immediately though and dives into Christ's guard.
Penn is looking to advance position but Christ has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Penn avoids a series of strikes thrown by Christ.
Christ landing strikes from the mount and Penn is in trouble!
Penn is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The referee warns Penn that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Penn keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Christ looking to isolate an arm here. Penn doesn't see it coming and as Christ extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Christ!

A relieved looking Jesus Christ thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
