Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Evangelo Hiatas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricardo Reis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hiatas comes to the cage accompanied by Undead. Reis has chosen Enter Sandman as his entrance music. Ricardo Reis has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Evangelo Hiatas's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ricardo Reis!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Felipe Paraventi and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hiatas throws a shot to the body.
Reis looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

Hiatas shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Hiatas trying to control the position from guard on top but Reis is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Hiatas trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Reis really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hiatas. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Hiatas slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Hiatas shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Reis as he jumps to the side.
Hiatas dodges the punch combination from Reis.
Hiatas misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Hiatas throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Reis throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
A swing and a miss from Hiatas.
Reis lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Reis keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Evangelo Hiatas. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hiatas throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Hiatas tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Reis swivels and escapes.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Reis tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hiatas paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Reis throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Hiatas shoots in and drives through. Reis sprawls well.
Hiatas is breathing heavily.
Reis fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Reis lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Reis fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Hiatas.
Reis looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Hiatas lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Reis backs up against the cage.
Reis thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Hiatas if he has to take too many more of those.
Reis connects with a solid leg kick.

A right-left combo lands from Reis.
Reis lands a head kick. Hiatas smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Reis forces Hiatas back against the cage and clinches.

Reis looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

Reis wants to clinch.

Reis darts in and clinches Hiatas up against the cage.
Reis connects with a nasty looking knee right to Hiatas's face.
Reis lands a nice knee to the body.

Reis manages to break the clinch.
Reis tries a head kick but it misses.
Hiatas avoids a punch combination nicely.
Hiatas throws a left and a right that both miss
and Reis counters with a body kick.
Reis lands a head kick. Hiatas smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Hiatas takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Reis thows a body kick. Hiatas tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Ricardo Reis is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Reis connects with a solid leg kick.
Reis pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Hiatas displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Hiatas fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Reis gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Hiatas tries to free his leg and advance position but Reis is retaining full guard.
Hiatas slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Hiatas sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Reis's guard.
Hiatas tries to pass the half guard into mount. Reis knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Hiatas passes to side control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Hiatas wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Reis, who protects the arm well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ricardo Reis dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Hiatas throws a leg kick
and Reis counters with a nice low kick that buckles Hiatas's knee momentarily.
Hiatas shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Reis as he avoids it easily.
Hiatas fails to land with a series of punches.

Reis gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hiatas throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Hiatas wants to control from the top but Reis keeps moving.
Hiatas loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Hiatas wants to pass the guard but Reis is keeping the position.
Hiatas will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Hiatas trying to control but Reis is working from the bottom.

Reis looking for a sweep. Not yet Reis, not yet.

Hiatas stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Evangelo Hiatas is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Reis uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Hiatas.
Reis throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Reis is breathing heavily.
Reis tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Hiatas shoots in looking for a takedown. Reis tries to sprawl out of it but Hiatas keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Reis manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Horrible takedown by Hiatas or perhaps it was just good defense by Reis which made him look bad.

Hiatas jumps guard but Reis stands there with Hiatas around his waist. Hiatas gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Hiatas wants to break the clinch but can't.

Reis breaks from the clinch.
Reis lands a head kick!
Hiatas looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Reis lands with a thumping leg kick.
Reis goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Reis is looking to slow Hiatas down with leg kicks.
Hiatas throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Reis counters with a head kick. That will keep Hiatas thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Hiatas stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Reis.
Hiatas avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Reis scoring well with a low kick there.
Reis scores with a leg kick.
Reis misses with a few strikes there.

and Hiatas counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Reis is trying to keep Hiatas in close.
Hiatas wants to pass the guard but Reis is keeping the position.
Hiatas wants to control from the top but Reis keeps moving.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Hiatas keeps the fight on the outside.
Hiatas shoots for a double leg takedown but Reis sprawls well. He's pushed Hiatas's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Hiatas fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Nice body kick there by Reis.
Reis stuffs the takedown.
Hiatas changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Reis tries to avoid it but Hiatas manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Reis to the ground. Reis escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Reis throws a front kick aimed at Hiatas's knee but Hiatas avoids it well.
Hiatas shoots in for a double leg but Reis sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Ricardo Reis will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's time! Hiatas's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Hiatas is tying to control. Reis wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Hiatas has hold of Reis's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Reis seems comfortable defending it but Hiatas has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Reis is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Reis is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Hiatas couldn't care less - he's delighted!
