Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Marcus Sheen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, George Wood!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Steve Smith and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sheen closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Wood is trying to stand back up but Sheen is controlling him
Wood trying to control from the bottom.
Sheen passes to side control.
Wood wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Sheen connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Wood some visible discomfort.
Wood is trying to buck Sheen off.
Wood prevents Sheen from improving position.
Wood is looking to reverse the position.
Sheen fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Sheen lands a decent elbow from side control.
Wood is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Wood is pushing Sheen's head away, looking to escape. Sheen manages to hold on to the position though.
Wood is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Sheen throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Sheen scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Wood slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Sheen drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Sheen jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Sheen stops Wood from standing up.
Sheen cracks Wood with a solid left hand.
Sheen prevents Wood from getting back to his feet.

Wood had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Sheen is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Wood Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Sheen's back instead.
Wood looks gassed!

Sheen wants to control his opponent's hands but Wood gets his hands free.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Wood is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Sheen is defending well though. Wood let's go of the attempt for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wood is trying to stick to Sheen's back but Sheen is turning into Wood. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Wood's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Sheen.

Wood looking for a guillotine here but Sheen defends easily.
Sheen passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Wood tries to escape but Sheen is in control.
Wood gets back to half guard.

Wood manages to escape and get back to his feet!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Wood is looking to land body kicks.
Horrible takedown by Sheen or perhaps it was just good defense by Wood which made him look bad.
Wood scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.


It looks like Marcus Sheen has been cut.
George Wood seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wood lands a jab to the head.


Sheen is rocked!
Sheen takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Oh Sheen is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Wood tries to keep at a distance but Sheen has taken the fight into the clinch.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Wood is pressed up against the cage. Sheen has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Wood down to the mat. Wood avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Wood throws a nice looking combination but Sheen bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Wood looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Sheen moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Sheen connects with a looping right hand.
Wood lands a lovely overhand right.
Wood smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Sheen shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Wood's guard.
Sheen working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Wood wants to stand and escape but Sheen is having none of it.
Sheen advances position into side control!
Sheen seems to have got his legs back now.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Wood wants to get back to his feet.
Wood takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Wood is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Sheen is controlling him well.

Wood throws Sheen to one side and escapes!

Sheen scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Sheen lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Wood takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Wood is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Sheen asserts his dominance and retains side control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sheen lands some shots froms side control.
Wood takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but George Wood will probably get the nod.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Wood tries to score with a low kick but Sheen moves his leg out of the way.
Sheen misses with a takedown attempt - Wood sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Sheen pivots, looking for a leg kick but Wood is out of range and Sheen settles back down.
Wood loads up on a big right hand but Sheen slips the punch.
Wood dips to his left and cracks Sheen with an uppercut!
Wood swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Sheen.

Sheen gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Wood misses with a hook from the clinch.
Wood wants to get back to striking at distance but Sheen won't allow it.

Sheen breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Sheen falls off balance throwing a combination
and Wood counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Sheen avoids a punch combination nicely.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Sheen misses with a few strikes there.
Wood moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Wood connects with the punch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Wood, as that shot connected.
Wood closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Sheen! Wood dives in looking to finish! Sheen is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:10 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). George Wood!
