Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between BJ Caspar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Milton Vessey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, BJ Caspar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Milton Vessey!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Steve Smith and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Caspar throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Caspar looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Vessey is fending him off so far but Caspar persists. Nope, Vessey circles away and we're back to standing.

Nice sprawl there from Vessey as Caspar shoots in.
Caspar tries to clinch up.
Caspar tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Vessey paws at him with a jab and circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Caspar throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Vessey's waist but Vessey gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Caspar off to one side.

and Vessey counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Caspar really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Vessey wants to control from the top but Caspar keeps moving.

Vessey must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Caspar will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Caspar fails with the takedown

and Vessey counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Vessey landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Vessey wants to lay and pray for a moment but Caspar keeps working.
Vessey is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Caspar fails with the takedown

and Vessey counters with a shoot takedown. Caspar fights it but they end up in guard.

Caspar wants to control but Vessey is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Caspar has hold of Vessey's hands but Vessey slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Vessey is keen to just control but Caspar is a slippery customer.

Vessey passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Caspar!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Vessey wants to control the pace but Caspar is squirming around nicely.
Caspar tries to lock up and control but Vessey gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Caspar is looking to improve his position but Vessey isn't that keen on the idea.

Vessey wants to finish this one by submission but Caspar is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Vessey.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Caspar slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Caspar is looking to control Vessey's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Caspar avoid being mounted?

Vessey is trying to work for a kimura but Caspar is defending well.
Vessey has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Caspar wants to hold on but Vessey pushes him away.

Vessey is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Caspar is surviving well by controlling Vessey's body position as best he can.
Caspar wants to control but Vessey is having none of it.
Caspar is wriggling around trying to escape.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Vessey wants to control the pace but Caspar is squirming around nicely.

The referee warns Caspar that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Despite being in the dominant position, Milton Vessey just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Caspar misses with a series of wild punches.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Milton Vessey showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Caspar has his takedown stuffed

and Vessey counters with a nice double leg into side control. Caspar won't be happy with that.
You can see the frustration on Caspar's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Vessey creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Caspar sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Caspar bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Vessey's guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Vessey counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Caspar!
BJ Caspar has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Vessey goes for an armbar but Caspar turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Caspar.

And that's the end of the fight!
Milton Vessey comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Vessey winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
