The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

SauruS pulls Van Damme in close to his closed guard and prevents Van Damme from doing any damage or advancing position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
SauruS throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Van Damme.

and SauruS counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

SauruS bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Van Damme's head.

SauruS blocks a head kick by Van Damme.
SauruS changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Van Damme tries to avoid it but SauruS manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Van Damme to the ground. Van Damme escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

SauruS throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

SauruS shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
SauruS is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Van Damme!
Van Damme is squirming around, avoiding SauruS's attempts to control the action.
SauruS throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Van Damme because SauruS loaded up on that one.

Van Damme's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
