PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Little Mac (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jiang Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lee has chosen Ego Fall-The Spirit of Mongolia as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Steve Montenegro and Eddie Farnsworth.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mac cracks Lee with a good jab.
Mac throws a right and a left that both miss.

Lee shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Mac manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Mac wants to stand but Lee is controlling the position.
Lee stays in close to Mac's body and controls the position.
Mac knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lee on the ground.
Lee won't allow Mac to get back to his feet.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jiang Lee was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Lee has Mac up against the cage in a clinch.

Mac is trying to force a seperation but Lee has the dominant position.
Mac has had enough of the clinch but Lee keeps him there for the moment.
Mac tries to circle away but Lee has him pinned against the cage.
Lee drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Mac gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Mac is trying to push Lee away but Lee has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Mac wants to break the clinch but can't.
Lee is working for takedown but Mac is calmly controlling the position for now.
Lee fails to pull guard.
Little Mac has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jiang Lee.
Lee keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Mac's efforts to push away.
Mac gets underhooks to prevent Lee's takedown attempt.

Lee has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Mac uses from the top position.
Mac wants to stand but Lee is controlling his posture from full guard.

Lee pulls Mac in close to prevent any damage.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Little Mac just wasn't active enough.
Mac throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Lee avoids the body shot from Mac.
Mac throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Mac throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Lee counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Mac tries to circle away but Lee has him pinned against the cage.

Lee escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Mac throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Mac swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Mac misses with a series of wild punches.
Little Mac is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Mac is breathing heavily.
Mac misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Mac misses with a double jab.
Mac misses with a wild combination.

Lee scores with a takedown into Mac's guard.
Lee slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Let's hope that Lee has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Mac wants to stand up but Lee is controlling him.

Jiang Lee has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Mac misses with a two punch combination.
Mac stuffs the takedown.
Mac throws a body punch but Lee moves out of range.

Mac tries to sprawl but Lee drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Mac is in trouble now - Lee has advanced to mount!

Lee get's back to his feet.
Lee cracks Mac with a good jab.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jiang Lee dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Lee moves into range and clinches up with Mac.
Lee is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Mac is defending well.

Lee has picked Mac up - he's going for a ride! Lee dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Lee wants to pass to mount but Mac is defending the position.
Mac wants to get back to his feet.
Lee seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Mac is in trouble now - Lee has advanced to mount!

Mac wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

Mac is trying to stand but he's just given Lee his back.

Lee has got one arm under Mac's chin. This could be trouble... Mac trying to control the other hand but Lee gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Mac has tapped out! The fight is over!
