Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Joe Sackett!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jim Driver!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Elvis Blanc and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Driver misses with a right hand
and Sackett counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Driver has eaten all the pies!
Driver throws an off balance right hand

and Sackett counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Sackett.

Sackett stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Sackett uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Driver.
Driver misses with a right hand

and Sackett counters with a takedown into side control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
You can see the frustration on Driver's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Driver tries to buck Sackett off but Sackett is having none of it.
Sackett in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Sackett creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Sackett stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Driver misses with a lunging right hand

and Sackett counters with a head kick that drops Driver to the mat! Driver scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
Driver looks gassed!

Sackett pushes Driver up against the cage in a clinch.

Sackett lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Sackett is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sackett content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Sackett's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Sackett is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Driver!
Driver is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Sackett looking to finish Driver with some ground and pound. This is bad for Driver!
The referee warns Driver that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sackett jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Driver manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Sackett stands up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
A solid body kick from Sackett.

Sackett drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
You can see the frustration on Driver's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Sackett stands up.
Good leg kick by Sackett there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Sackett takes the fight into the clinch.
Sackett taking a break, stalling in the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sackett is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.

Sackett pulls guard successfully.
Sackett wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Sackett lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Driver!

Sackett moves to back control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Driver is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Sackett is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Driver knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Driver for a finish.
Sackett just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Sackett is working the ground and pound. Can Driver escape?
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Sackett gets his hooks in and is throwing strikes.
Sackett has Driver flattened out and is raining down punches.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Joe Sackett dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Sackett clinches up with Driver and pushes him back against the cage.

Sackett gets control of Driver's arms and successfully pulls guard. Sackett will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Sackett seems keen to control Driver's posture.
Driver throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Sackett works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Sackett throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Sackett looking for a sweep. Not yet Sackett, not yet.

Sackett has his feet on Driver's thighs here. He's pushed Driver off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Driver screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
