Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Asser Toropainen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlos Ruiz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Toropainen comes to the cage accompanied by Paleface-Syntynyt rellestää. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruiz keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Toropainen shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ruiz defends it nicely.
Ruiz moves out of range of the strikes.
Nice uppercut there from Toropainen.
Toropainen avoids the body shot from Ruiz.
Ruiz throws a hook to the side of Toropainen's head but Toropainen sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Toropainen walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Ruiz checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Ruiz fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Toropainen on the side of the head.

Ruiz pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Toropainen back to the cage. Ruiz follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Ruiz looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Toropainen with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Ruiz slips a nice elbow through Toropainen's hands, connecting with Toropainen's forehead.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Toropainen has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Toropainen is working to tighten is grip on Ruiz's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Ruiz has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Toropainen is really squeezing tight and eventually Ruiz passes out! Toropainen breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

In his post fight interview, Asser Toropainen started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
