PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rob Robizzle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Black Widow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Black Widow will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Robizzle changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Widow looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Robizzle trying to control the position but Widow is working away.
The referee asks Robizzle politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Robizzle prefers to stall for the moment though.
Widow manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Widow is looking for a triangle but Robizzle pushes his legs off easily.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Widow has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Robizzle can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

We're going to have a standup here because Rob Robizzle wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Robizzle throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Widow's waist but Widow gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Robizzle off to one side.

Robizzle looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

A close round but Black Widow will probably get the nod.

Robizzle misses with a takedown

and Widow decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Robizzle's guard.
Widow seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Black Widow was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Robizzle throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Widow tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Robizzle is in Widow's guard.
