The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Salonga keeps the fight on the outside.
Daniels looks to clinch

and Salonga counters by moving into the clinch.

Salonga jumps guard and drags Daniels to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Daniels stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Salonga swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Salonga really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Daniels. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Daniels is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Daniels drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Daniels jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Daniels is looking to stand up but Salonga won't let him.

Salonga throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Daniels was covering up waiting for the punch and Salonga finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Salonga is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Salonga bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Daniels tries to clinch up but Salonga circles away and keeps his distance.

Salonga fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Daniels on the side of the head.

Salonga closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Daniels's guard.

Daniels escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Salonga gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Daniels is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Salonga has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Daniels goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Salonga is on top in guard.

Daniels drops back looking for a leg! Salonga is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Salonga manages to kick Daniels off! Daniels jumps back into Salonga's guard.

Daniels is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Daniels is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Salonga still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Salonga has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Well Salonga has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
