Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Komuto Poebalunaka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Magne Midgard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Poebalunaka might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Morbid Angel - Rapture. Midgard comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Crazy Train kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Magne Midgard enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Komuto Poebalunaka!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 10 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Magne Midgard!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Sergei Dronov and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Midgard fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Poebalunaka is out of range.
Poebalunaka shoots in for a takedown but Midgard shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Poebalunaka scores with a punch to the head.
Komuto Poebalunaka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Midgard darts in and clinches Poebalunaka up against the cage.
Midgard tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Poebalunaka avoids it.
Midgard stalls.
Midgard tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Midgard misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Poebalunaka.
Poebalunaka fails to pull guard.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Poebalunaka working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Midgard doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Midgard manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Midgard throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Poebalunaka works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Midgard wants to control from the top but Poebalunaka keeps moving.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Midgard is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Poebalunaka is concentrating on defense, preventing Midgard from advancing position.
Poebalunaka has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Midgard is working away from the top position though.
Midgard thows a huge punch but Poebalunaka dodges it nicely.

Poebalunaka slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Poebalunaka utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Midgard is sitting in close to Poebalunaka's body. Poebalunaka has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Midgard is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Midgard is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Poebalunaka.

After winning the bout, Komuto Poebalunaka thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
