Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Padrone Shinobi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Fair Child!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Child connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Shinobi momentarily.
Child pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Shinobi walks forward, straight into a front kick from Child.
Child throws a head kick but Shinobi moves out of range.
Shinobi checks a leg kick nicely.
Shinobi shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Child as he jumps to the side.
Child throws a right and a left that Shinobi avoids nicely.
Child misses with a jab, cross combination.
Child dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Child tries to bum rush Shinobi with a series of wild strikes but Shinobi uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Shinobi avoids the body shot from Child.
Shinobi takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Child defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Shinobi.
Child throws a lazy head kick
and Shinobi counters with a single leg into guard. Child didn't expect that.
Shinobi trying to control but Child is working from the bottom.
Child is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Shinobi drops back looking for a leg! Child is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Child manages to kick Shinobi off! Shinobi jumps back into Child's guard.
Shinobi has gone for a leg lock! Child slips out almost immediately though and dives into Shinobi's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Child throws a big right hand that misses.
Child pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Shinobi is keeping the position for now.
Shinobi is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Child frees his head nicely. Oh but Shinobi has switched to an armbar! Child is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
