And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lebeng wants to clinch

and Mayer counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mayer content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Mayer seems to be looking for submissions.
Mayer trying to control the pace.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mayer working over Lebeng with some ground and pound. Lebeng looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Mayer works his way into full mount!

Mayer is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Lebeng to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Lebeng shrugs it off.

Mayer stands up from mount. Strange move.
Lebeng pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Mayer throws a nice looking combination but Lebeng bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Mayer shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Mayer is thwarting Lebeng's attempts to control the position.

Mayer gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Mayer is trying to stall.

Mayer takes a knee right on the jaw!


It looks like Florian Mayer has been cut.
Lebeng keeps control of Mayer as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Lebeng throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Mayer blocks it with crossed arms.

Mayer successfully pulls guard.
Lebeng trying to stand up but can't free himself from Mayer's guard.
Mayer is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Mayer stands up and beckons Lebeng to join him on the feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lebeng throws a head kick that misses.
Lebeng plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Lebeng is breathing heavily.
Mayer tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Mayer shoots in and gets a takedown into Lebeng's guard.
Mayer trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Lebeng can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Mayer controls the pace.

Mayer gets to his feet. Lebeng looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Lebeng tries to clinch but Mayer is having none of it.
Lebeng throws a sloppy head kick and Mayer moves out of range easily.

Lebeng tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mayer paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Mayer has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Lebeng with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Mayer tries for a takedown. No joy.
Mayer trying to stall but Lebeng improves his position.

Lebeng manages to pull guard.
Mayer missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Let's hope that Mayer has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Florian Mayer wasn't active enough on the ground.
Lebeng tries to clinch up.
Mayer tries a low kick but Lebeng avoids it.

Mayer throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Lebeng was covering up waiting for the punch and Mayer finishes the takedown easily into guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Mayer lands a couple of digs.

Mayer engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Florian Mayer.
Lebeng plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Lebeng throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Mayer clinches.

Lebeng's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
No joy there for Mayer, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Lebeng avoids the head kick by Mayer.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Lebeng.

Mayer closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Mayer is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Mayer lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Florian Mayer showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's time! Lebeng's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!



Mayer rushes Lebeng and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Lebeng.
With the fighters up against the cage, Mayer throws an elbow but misses.
Lebeng avoiding damage as Mayer throws knees to the body.
Mayer is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Lebeng is defending well.
Lebeng lands an elbow that stopped Mayer in his tracks for a moment.


That has opened up Florian Mayer's cut even more.
Lebeng lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Lebeng is trying to pull guard but Mayer turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Lebeng putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Mayer in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.

Mayer misses with a body kick.

Mayer shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Mayer showed some decent athleticism there.
Mayer takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Lebeng wants to control but Mayer passes into side.

Mayer swings around for an armbar but Lebeng sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Mayer's guard.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Lebeng wanted to stand there but Mayer had control of the position.
Mayer wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Chesshaire Lebeng.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mayer can do anything to dispel that myth.
Lebeng wants to stand and escape but instead Mayer has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Lebeng can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Mayer controls the pace.

Mayer works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Mayer lands with a punch from half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Mayer postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Lebeng to stand up.
Chesshaire Lebeng has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Florian Mayer is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lebeng throws a head kick that half lands.

Florian Mayer comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Mayer winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
