Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
15 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Frank Killer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jatlier Smokeleaf!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Illya Tyunina and Aleksandr Martynov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Killer looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Smokeleaf lands with a shot to the body.
Smokeleaf fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Killer avoids it really well and circles away.
Killer wants to clinch
and Smokeleaf counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Killer has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Smokeleaf.
Killer fails with an attempt to clinch.
Smokeleaf shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Smokeleaf is taking a breather. Killer says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Killer wants to improve his position but Smokeleaf is controlling well.

It looks like Smokeleaf might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Jatlier Smokeleaf wasn't active enough on the ground.

enabling Smokeleaf to counter with a crisp jab.
Killer wants to clinch
and Smokeleaf counters with a low kick, right behind Killer 's knee.
Jatlier Smokeleaf seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Killer is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

and Smokeleaf counters with a good, hard body kick but Killer shrugs it off.
Smokeleaf lands a head kick!
It looks like Frank Killer has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Killer moves to clinch but Smokeleaf breaks away
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Killer is breathing heavily.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Smokeleaf, right into the meat.
Killer tries to close the distance and clinch but Smokeleaf swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Killer takes a kick to the side of the head.
Frank Killer is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Killer closes the distance but Smokeleaf moves to the side
and Smokeleaf counters with a nice low kick that buckles Killer's knee momentarily.
Smokeleaf fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Killer has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Smokeleaf closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Killer to the mat! Killer manages to get full guard.

Killer on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Killer tries to get out of the position.
Smokeleaf is stalling in the full guard.

Jatlier Smokeleaf has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Killer takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Smokeleaf lands a jab-cross combination.
Smokeleaf chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Smokeleaf pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Smokeleaf.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Smokeleaf throws a nice looking combination but Killer bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Smokeleaf cracks Killer with a right hand to the side of the head.

and Smokeleaf makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Killer is looking to clinch but Smokeleaf is avoiding it.

Killer tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Smokeleaf counters with a nice body kick.
Smokeleaf gets a clinch.
Smokeleaf drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Killer throws an elbow but it misses.
Smokeleaf turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
The referee asks Smokeleaf politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Smokeleaf prefers to stall for the moment though.
Smokeleaf tries for a kimura but Killer is defending well.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Killer gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Smokeleaf controlling the pace for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jatlier Smokeleaf dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Frank Killer's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Smokeleaf jabs Killer to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Killer is looking to clinch.

and Smokeleaf connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Smokeleaf tests Killer's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Killer is rocked!
Smokeleaf throws an overhand right that drops Killer like a sack of potatoes! Smokeleaf dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!

In his post fight interview, Jatlier Smokeleaf started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
