Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Erwin Rommel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Seppo Salamurhaaja (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Seppo Salamurhaaja will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Erwin Rommel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Seppo Salamurhaaja!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Matti Vanhoillinen and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big right from Salamurhaaja misses.
Rommel slips a jab and a cross from Salamurhaaja.
Salamurhaaja throws a nice looking combination but Rommel bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Rommel changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Salamurhaaja looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Salamurhaaja gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Rommel is controlling the pace.

Salamurhaaja wants to control but Rommel is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Salamurhaaja might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Rommel kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Rommel seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Salamurhaaja for as long as he can get away with.

Salamurhaaja tries to buck Rommel off but Rommel is having none of it.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rommel closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Rommel lands in his opponent's guard.

Salamurhaaja is looking for a triangle here but Rommel uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Salamurhaaja tries to contro but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.
Salamurhaaja is trying to escape the mount.
Salamurhaaja is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Salamurhaaja is breathing heavily.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Salamurhaaja is trying desperately to improve position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Salamurhaaja throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Erwin Rommel just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Rommel won't let Salamurhaaja get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Salamurhaaja takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Rommel is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Salamurhaaja can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Rommel has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Salamurhaaja's face.

Rommel's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Well Rommel has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
