Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Denis Severnov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Adam Gaziev!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Valeri Chadov and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gaziev drives through with a takedown into Severnov's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Severnov closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Gaziev quickly recovers to half guard.
Gaziev is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Severnov's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Severnov's back!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
You can see the frustration on Severnov's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Severnov is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Gaziev gets his way!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Gaziev has one foot on Severnov's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Severnov closes the distance and clinches up with Gaziev, looking for a takedown. Severnov pushes Gaziev against the cage but Gaziev circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Gaziev looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Severnov is fending him off so far but Gaziev persists. Nope, Severnov circles away and we're back to standing.

and Gaziev counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Severnov throws a body kick the misses
and Gaziev connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Severnov is staying active underneath Gaziev, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Severnov is desperately trying to improve his position but Gaziev has a good base and remains in mount.

Gaziev quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Gaziev but it's paid off an Severnov is forced to tap! Nice work by Gaziev.
