The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saint Pierre keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Saint Pierre scores with a takedown into Savara's guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Saint Pierre is looking to work some ground and pound but Savara has wrist control.
Saint Pierre tries to stand but Savara is controlling from the bottom.
Savara is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Saint Pierre is looking to stand up but Savara won't let him.
Savara has control of Saint Pierre's left arm, preventing Saint Pierre from doing any damage.

Savara drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Savara jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Savara wants to pass the guard but Saint Pierre is keeping the position.

Savara stands and throws Saint Pierre's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Savara thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Saint Pierre sneaks out the side door and pushes Savara away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Saint Pierre throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Savara tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Saint Pierre is in Savara's guard.

Savara working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Saint Pierre doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Savara is tightening it up a little... Saint Pierre has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Saint Pierre reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Saint Pierre taps out! Nice BJJ there by Savara!
