Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 13 - 0, fighting out of London, Jamie Wigfield!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Phil Anselmo!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, James Ackerman and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anselmo jabs Wigfield to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Anselmo doesn't manage to clinch there - Wigfield circles away.
Anselmo tries to clinch up

and Wigfield counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Anselmo!
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Anselmo is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

Wigfield stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Anselmo misses with a jab, cross combination.
Anselmo tries to bum rush Wigfield with a series of wild strikes but Wigfield uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Anselmo doesn't manage to clinch there - Wigfield circles away.
Wigfield is trying hard to land a takedown here. Anselmo sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Anselmo lands with a kick to the temple. Wigfield shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Anselmo wants to stand up but Wigfield is controlling him.
Wigfield wanted to stand there but Anselmo had control of the position.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Anselmo scores with a one two! Wigfield had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Anselmo wants to clinch

and Wigfield counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Anselmo is trying to stand.
Anselmo looks gassed!
Anselmo is looking to get back to is feet but Wigfield passes into side control.

Wigfield decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Wigfield stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Wigfield.

Anselmo lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Wigfield circles away quickly and effectively.

Anselmo clinches.
Anselmo tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Wigfield's elbow.
Anselmo creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Anselmo wants to break free but Wigfield has control.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
The referee is keeping an eye on Anselmo - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Anselmo just misses with a elbow thrown towards Wigfield's brow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Anselmo is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Wigfield is controlling him.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Wigfield gets to his feet - Anselmo follows without any prompting.
Wigfield shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Anselmo sprawls well. Anselmo wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Wigfield gets slowly back to his feet.
Anselmo fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Phil Anselmo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Wigfield drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Anselmo gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Anselmo's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Anselmo rushes Wigfield and presses him up against the cage.
Anselmo looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Anselmo is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Wigfield is defending well for now.
Anselmo will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Wigfield up against the cage.
Anselmo tries to throw a body punch but Wigfield avoids it by throwing Anselmo back against the cage.
Anselmo should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Anselmo misses with a punch to the body.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Anselmo takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Wigfield shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Anselmo defends it nicely.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Anselmo throws a series of punches but Wigfield avoids them all with ease.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Phil Anselmo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Wigfield gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Anselmo closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Wigfield is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Anselmo utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body.

Anselmo tries to land knees in the clinch but Wigfield avoids the damage to the body.

Anselmo breaks from the clinch.
Anselmo fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Anselmo has Wigfield up against the cage in a clinch.
Wigfield being controlled against the cage.
Anselmo goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Anselmo breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Wigfield shoots in looking for a takedown but Anselmo manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Wigfield's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Anselmo scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

and Wigfield counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Wigfield will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Wigfield gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Anselmo lands with a slapping head kick.
Anselmo moves in looking to clinch but Wigfield pushes him off.
Anselmo falls off balance throwing a combination

and Wigfield counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Anselmo!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jamie Wigfield.
I think Wigfield has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
