The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Safire stuffs the takedown attempt from Imhotep. Imhotep gets slowly back to his feet.

Safire clinches up with Imhotep and pushes him back against the cage.

Safire closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Imhotep tries to break free but Safire pushes him back against the cage.

Safire lands an elbow just above Imhotep 's eye.

That has opened up Nefertum Imhotep's cut even more.
Safire is pressed up against the cage. Imhotep has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Safire down to the mat. Safire avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Fred Safire has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nefertum Imhotep.

Imhotep pushes Safire up against the cage in a clinch.
Safire comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Imhotep takes an elbow to the temple.

Imhotep is fighting off a takedown attempt but Safire is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Imhotep to the mat. Imhotep regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Imhotep looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Safire puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Safire looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Imhotep with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Safire frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Safire looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Imhotep covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
