PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jayson Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pika Kalei (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jackson comes to the cage accompanied by Famous-Puddle of Mud. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Felipe Paraventi and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kalei moves in looking to clinch but Jackson pushes him off.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Pika Kalei seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kalei shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jackson but Jackson pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Jayson Jackson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Jackson scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.


It looks like Pika Kalei has been cut.
Kalei shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jackson pinned against the cage. Jackson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Kalei wants to control the pace but Jackson is squirming around nicely.
Jackson is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Kalei gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Jackson goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Kalei shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jackson but Jackson pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Kalei fails with a takedown attempt.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Jackson misses with a few strikes there.
Horrible takedown by Kalei or perhaps it was just good defense by Jackson which made him look bad.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Kalei drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kalei jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Kalei wants to pass the guard but Jackson is keeping the position.
Jackson seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Jackson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kalei is one step ahead there.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

I think Kalei has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
