PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between The Beast (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Benjamin Harrison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Harrison has chosen invasion alert as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, The Beast!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Benjamin Harrison!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Chris Edwards and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Harrison tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Beast manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Harrison stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Harrison wants it to stay on the feet.
Beast shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Harrison but Harrison pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Harrison displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Beast has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Harrison gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Beast thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Harrison is trying to keep Beast in close.
Harrison looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Harrison is looking for a triangle here but Beast uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Beast tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Beast has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Harrison tries to buck Beast off but Beast is having none of it.

Beast is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Harrison is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Beast swings around for an armbar but Harrison sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Beast's guard.
Harrison distracts Beast with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Beast keeping moving, preventing Harrison from controlling successfully.
Beast not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Harrison wants to pass the guard but Beast is keeping the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Harrison is in close to Beast's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Harrison throws a big right hand that misses.
Harrison loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Harrison wants to control from the top but Beast keeps moving.
Harrison advances to half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Harrison is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Beast defends it well.

Harrison is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Harrison is looking for a kimura but Beast is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Harrison to get the leverage.

Beast is defending against the submission attempts here by Harrison.
Harrison stalling away here and it's allowed Beast to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Harrison tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Beast paws at him with a jab and circles away.
A punch combination from Harrison misses.
Beast shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Harrison sprawls well. Harrison wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Beast gets slowly back to his feet.

Beast looking to score a takedown here. Harrison is defending well but Beast drives through and ends up in Harrison's guard.

Beast thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Harrison looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Beast drops back looking for a leg! Harrison is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Harrison manages to kick Beast off! Beast jumps back into Harrison's guard.

Harrison working for a triangle but Beast defends it easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Beast drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Beast jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Harrison holds on and takes a little breather.

Harrison scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Beast misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Beast shoots in for a takedown but Harrison shows good takedown defense.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for The Beast. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Harrison looks to land a combination. Beast sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
A left and a right from Harrison both land. Nice combination.


Beast is rocked!
Harrison throws a one two combo.
Oh Beast is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Harrison forces Beast back against the cage and clinches.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Harrison escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Harrison throws a perfectly timed hook that sends Beast crashing down! Beast tries to stagger back to his feet but Harrison just hammers him until the ref stops the fight! A confused Beast asks the ref what just happened. Poor fella.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:08 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Benjamin Harrison!
After the fight, Benjamin Harrison was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
