Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Carlos Kaike!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Luck Miller!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Thiago Cunha and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kaike tries to score a power double leg takedown but Miller sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kaike somewhat.

and Miller counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Kaike's guard now.

Kaike is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Miller pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kaike is keeping the position for now.
Miller is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Miller controls from within his opponent's guard.
Kaike really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Miller postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Kaike is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Miller, into his guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Miller keeping moving, preventing Kaike from controlling successfully.

Miller wants to stand but Kaike is controlling the position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Miller can do anything to dispel that myth.
Kaike passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Miller wants to get back to his feet but Kaike drags him back down.
Kaike trying to control the action but Miller is working from the bottom.

Kaike tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Kaike trying to control the position but Miller is working away.

Kaike stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Miller looks for a takedown but Kaike sprawls well.
Miller fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Kaike swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Nice takedown defense from Miller. No joy for Kaike on that attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Carlos Kaike. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Miller closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Kaike did well to prevent Miller getting side control.

Miller seems to be looking for submissions.
Kaike avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Miller.
Kaike trying to control but Miller postures up.
Kaike moves into full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Miller pushes down on Kaike's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Miller is taking a breather. Kaike says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Kaike throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kaike moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Kaike looking for a sweep. Not yet Kaike, not yet.
Milleris looking to pass into half guard but Kaike pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Kaike is in guard.
Miller is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Kaike lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Kaike prevents Miller from getting back to his feet.
Miller really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kaike. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kaike trying to control but Miller is working from the bottom.
Miller wants to stand and escape but Kaike is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Luck Miller will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Kaike throws a head kick but Miller moves out of range.
Miller keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Kaike throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Miller counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Kaike can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Miller controls the pace.
Milleris looking to pass into half guard but Kaike pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Kaike is in guard.
Kaike trying to control but Miller is working from the bottom.
Miller wants to get back to his feet but Kaike is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Kaike stands and throws Miller's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Kaike scoring with punches from side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Miller pushes Kaike away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Kaike gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Kaike wants to lay and pray for a moment but Miller keeps working.

Kaike working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Kaike wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Miller, who protects the arm well.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Miller throws Kaike to one side and escapes!
Miller shoots for a double leg takedown but Kaike sprawls well. He's pushed Miller's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Miller looking to score a takedown here. Kaike is defending well but Miller drives through and ends up in Kaike's guard.
Luck Miller has got the better of the ground game so far.

Miller drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Miller as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Kaike screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Miller! Nice submission victory there!
