PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Michael Allstrom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chad Griggs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Allstrom kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Shoot to Thrill - AC DC. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Griggs shoots in but no luck this time.

Griggs shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Allstrom's guard.
Allstrom might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Griggs with a flurry of punches that miss.

Allstrom is looking for a triangle but Griggs pushes his legs off easily.
Allstrom avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Griggs trying to control but Allstrom is working from the bottom.
Griggs lands a couple of elbows.

Griggs is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Allstrom manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Allstrom wants to control the pace but Griggs is squirming around nicely.

Griggs is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Allstrom looking to secure an arm triangle but Griggs defends it well.

Griggs bucks Allstrom off and manages to get back to his feet!
Allstrom shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Griggs as he avoids it easily.

A telegraphed right hand from Allstrom misses the target.
Allstrom is breathing heavily.
Allstrom moves in looking to clinch but Griggs pushes him off.

Griggs rushes Allstrom and presses him up against the cage.
Allstrom fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Griggs has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Allstrom regains guard immediately.

Griggs seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Griggs lands a nice short elbow.

Griggs is trying to control the action in half guard but Allstrom is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Griggs seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Griggs uses his free foot to push down on Allstrom's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Allstrom.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Griggs cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Griggs connects with a bit shot that sees Allstrom covering up! More strikes from Griggs and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Griggs is our winner by TKO!
