The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

William gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
William has a closed guard, preventing Gallows from standing up.

William looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

William is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Gallows is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

William is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Gallows not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

We're going to have a standup here because Tyler Gallows wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Gallows wants to get up but he can't break William's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

William working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gallows doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gallows manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

William has his foot on Gallows's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Gallows works his way back into a safe position though.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
William had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Gallows defends it easily.

Gallows decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Gallows scores with a sloppy right hand. William should have avoided that one.

and Gallows counters with a crisp one two that drops William! Gallows thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves William to his feet! William is in big trouble!

Gallows is staying tight to William's torso, preventing him from escaping.
William tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Gallows wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Gallows slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
William wants to stand and escape but Gallows is having none of it.

Gallows stays in close to William's body and controls the position.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Gallows avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Gallows stands up and waves to William to follow him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gallows escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
William is trying desperately to land a takedown but Gallows is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for William.

Gallows closes the distance and lands a one-two.
William closes this distance looking for a takedown but Gallows circles away.

Gallows lands a big right hook! William looks hurt but is still standing! Gallows lands a left jab and another right hook! This time William falls down and Gallows dives in with a huge hammer fist! William's eyes roll back! The referee calls for the bell and Gallows runs up the cage to celebrate with his fans!
