The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mikala lands a slapping body shot.
Leobotas shoots and misses
and Mikala makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Mikala misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Mikala lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Mikala connects with a looping right hand.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Leobotas shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

It looks like Leon Leobotas has been cut.
Leobotas on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Leon Leobotas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Leobotas is breathing heavily.
Mikala throws a quick inside leg kick.
Mikala lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
That kick from Mikala tenderised Leobotas's leg. Leobotas is trying to keep his angry face on.
Mikala digs a good body shot into Leobotas's ribs.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mikala throws a front kick that sends Leobotas stumbling back into the cage.

Mikala throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as Leobotas stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. Mikala follows into mount!

Mikala working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Leobotas looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Mikala! Submission of the night perhaps?
