Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Goru Buodad!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rick Silva!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, John Mangel and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Buodad shoots in looking for a takedown. Silva tries to sprawl out of it but Buodad keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Silva manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Silva.
Buodad is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Silva tries to stand but Buodad is controlling his head.
Buodad prevents Silva from improving position.
Buodad sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Buodad is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Silva pulls his head out easily.

Buodad actively working from the bottom here.
Silva really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Buodad. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Silva throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Buodad is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Silva pulls his head out easily.
Buodad is refusing to be controlled, as Silva sits in half guard.

Buodad looking for submissions off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Silva stands up from half guard.

Silva looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Buodad actively working from the bottom here.

Buodad looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Silva tries to stand and escape but Buodad is controlling the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Silva slows the pace down in half guard.

Silva missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Silva is taking a breather. Buodad says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Buodad slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Silva wants to pass the guard but Buodad is keeping the position.

Buodad working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Silva doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Silva manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Buodad is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Silva is aware though and is defending well.
Buodad is breathing heavily.
Silva wants to control from the top but Buodad keeps moving.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Silva's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Silva got a little sloppy there for a moment and Buodad has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Silva has managed to get both his arms back between Buodad's legs - danger averted.

Buodad escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Silva gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Buodad pushes a forearm under Silva's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Silva is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Goru Buodad!
A very excited looking Goru Buodad made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
