PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Deshawn Wallace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and The Situation (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Situation has chosen Worlds Greatest as his entrance music. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Deshawn Wallace!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 1, fighting out of New York, The Situation!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Joseph Jones and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wallace shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Situation defends it nicely.
Situation tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Wallace was well out of range. Poor timing from Situation.
Situation throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Wallace tries to score a power double leg takedown but Situation sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Wallace somewhat.
Situation throws a big shot that misses.
Nice sprawl there from Situation as Wallace shoots in.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Deshawn Wallace. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Situation stuns Wallace with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Wallace tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Situation is able to avoid easily.

Wallace changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Situation looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Wallace is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Situation has escaped the position, nice work there.
Situation seems a little lost for a moment, as Wallace dominates the positioning.

Wallace trying to control the action but Situation is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wallace tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Wallace throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
Wallace working the ground and pound from side control.
Wallace looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Situation is avoiding damage well.
Wallace lands a decent elbow from side control.

Wallace is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Situation knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Wallace is looking to take a break and control but Situation is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Wallace in side control lands a decent elbow.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Situation can do anything to dispel that myth.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Wallace goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Situation rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Wallace's guard! Nice work there by Situation!
Wallace is pulling down on Situation's head to control his posture.
Situation must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Situation stopping the sweep attempt from Wallace.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Wallace holds on and takes a little breather.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Deshawn Wallace has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Situation throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A punch lands to the side of Wallace 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Situation defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Wallace.
Wallace moves out of range of the strikes.
Wallace shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Situation as he jumps to the side.

Wallace dives in and scores a takedown into Situation's guard.
Wallace stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Situation swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Wallace passes Situation's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Wallace missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Wallace trying to mount his opponent but Situation defends it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Deshawn Wallace dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Situation uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Wallace has time to react.
Wallace shoots in looking for a takedown but Situation manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Wallace's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

and Situation makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Wallace really felt that one!
Wallace ducks under a wild hook from Situation.
Wallace looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Situation is fending him off so far but Wallace persists. Nope, Situation circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Deshawn Wallace. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Situation counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Situation throws a lazy uppercut

and Wallace counters with a shoot takedown. Situation fights it but they end up in guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Wallace is looking to work some ground and pound but Situation has wrist control.
Wallace trying to control the position from guard on top but Situation is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Situation wants to stand up but Wallace is controlling him.
Situation is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Wallace dives into side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Wallace trying to control the position but Situation is working away.

Wallace thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Situation is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Wallace is controlling him well.
Wallace is chipping away with strikes.
Wallace wants to control but Situation is keeping him busy.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Wallace has hold of Situation's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Situation seems comfortable defending it but Wallace has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Situation is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Situation is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Wallace couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:08 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Deshawn Wallace!
