Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 4 - 1, fighting out of London, Bobby Brown!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
14 - 10 - 0, fighting out of London, Cedric Steele!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Andrew Berry and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brown misses with a takedown
and Steele makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Steele stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Brown has his takedown stuffed
and Steele counters with a left to the body.
Brown fails with the takedown
and Steele counters with a three punch combo that has Brown backing up. Brown nods at Steele to acknowledge the strikes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bobby Brown. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Brown steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Steele.
Brown tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Steele swivels and escapes.
A shot to the liver by Steele. Beautiful body shot.
Brown shoots and misses
and Brown takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
A jab from Steele finds it's way through Brown's defenses.
Steele avoids the head kick by Brown.
Steele ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Brown moves away.
Brown closes this distance looking for a takedown but Steele circles away.
Brown shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Steele counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Brown's guard now.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Steele trying to control the position from guard on top but Brown is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Brown escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Steele gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Brown keeping moving, preventing Steele from controlling successfully.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Steele is posturing up here but Brown has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Steele tries to roll out but it's too tight and Steele has to tap! Slick submission there by Brown!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Bobby Brown!
Bobby Brown made sure to give a little speech post fight, saying 'WHERE YOU AT CORNISH!'.
